Paraolympic Day

Raiffeisenbank Austria d.d. (RBA) and the Croatian Paralympic Committee (CPC) held a press conference to mark this year’s first Paralympic School Day at the Ksaver Šandor Đalski Primary School in Zagreb. The press conference was attended by Michael Georg Müller, President of the RBA Management Board, Ratko Kovačić, President of the CPC, and acclaimed paralympic athletes Kristijan Vincetić, Ana Sršen and Nataša Sobočan.

President of the RBA Management Board Michael Georg Müller addressed the audience, saying the following: “Paralympic athletes are a true inspiration not only to people with disabilities, but also to those who think that the difficult equals the impossible. Life experience of each of the paralympic athletes present here today is invaluable and worthy of attention, as their behaviour and attitude tell stories in which perseverance and self-confidence are the keywords. By supporting this project, RBA wants to participate in the shaping of correct attitudes among the youngest, so that tomorrow they may live in a world without prejudice.”

After the official part, the pupils had a chance to practice paralympic sports and learn more about the disciplines in which top athletes compete at the Paralympic Games. In their efforts to learn the basics of disciplines, the youngsters were assisted by a team of FWR private bankers, who found spare time to help them master any athletic hurdles.
